Little Hands Wreath

I know, I'm a little obsessed with hand-print crafts. What momma doesn't find them a little bit irresistible?

This one we did last year so enjoy looking at pics of my baby girl a whole year ago pre-Canon days.

What you'll need...
1. Red and green construction paper
2. Paper plate
3. Glue
4. Ribbon

First trace the babies hands and cut them out. I traced each of the kids hands a couple times then just doubled up the paper when cutting them out. It was hard keeping a 2.5 yr old and a 6 month old sitting still to have their hands traced!

Marie attempting to trace her own hand.
Cut the center out of the paper plate and glue the hands around the plate.

Glue or staple on a ribbon for hanging.

Then, as usual, take pictures with the adorable model!

The Color of Inspiration

This week's inspiration prompt is "Your Favorite Color." If you know me even just a little bit, you know I LOVE green. Love it love it.

If I ever get to finish decorating our beautiful home, almost the entire house will have green accents. Feast your eyes on some of this beauty via Pinterest!

This last one actually makes me want to forget about groceries and go buy paint! My living room must look like this. asap.

Wow, I love green.

But I have another favorite that inspires my jewelry biz.

I don't know what it is about purple, but it's often the first color I gravitate toward in the bead store and when I'm rummaging through my bead stash. Something about it just says "DandLs DangLs Jewelry" :)

What color inspires you??

Spend the Day Playing (IW#4)

We love having Derek home! On the one beautiful day this week, he went out and bought a grill from Craigs List and stopped to get a fun pool for Marie! We spent all day playing!

I adore my family.

Inspiration Workshop Week #3

I will try to lay off the garden posts (can't make any promises!) but this week's prompt from Gussy is GREEN.

Hello. It's as if she said, "Lindsay, post about your amazing garden again!"

So I'm just obeying orders.

Enjoy the view...

Happy Thursday!

Inspiration Workshop Week #1

So Gussy Sews is one of my fave blogs. Not only does she make gorgeous bags of all types, and write fun and interesting blog posts, she also never ceases to inspire me!

She's started a link party that I had to join in on! This week's prompt:

"This week's prompt, in true Gussy fashion, is everything HANDMADE. A great way to kick off the Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop!, right?!  Do you have a favorite blanket that your grandmother knitted for you? Does your child play with a HANDMADE toy? What about that construction paper and macaroni creation on your refrigerator? What do you make or want to make?"

Just about everything handmade inspires me!

Like the other night I was wandering through Michaels ("A dangerous past time.""I know." Name that movie). I got all sorts of butterflies in my belly! I wanted to create everything in sight!

Or just now I was folding Marie's pajama pants and was filled with the desire to make her a pair myself!

You know, something like this:
Polka Dot Ruffle Pants...Sizes...6m,12m, 18m, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6
Found HERE
Or maybe I'll whip up something like this:
Noodles and Milk Sewing Pattern -Tutorial PDF DIY -Kinley Lounge Pants-Sizes 6mo to 5t
Found HERE
I guess I should probably learn how to sew first...

Anyway, I'm also inspired when I finish a big jewelry project. I spent hours working on these sets for a wedding:

And as soon as I was finished, I wanted to spend hours making more!

((I don't think the hubby would have been thrilled.))

What handmade sumthin' inspires you??
